Work Packages

EnTrust activities are distributed along 6 Work Packages (WP). The Individual Research Projects, WPs and Doctoral Candidates are integrated into the overall research programme, as is shown in the figure below.

The section below includes a summary of the WPs for MSCA DN EnTrust project, the lead beneficiary for each WP, the DRs belonging to each WP, and other details.

Q

WP1: Digital Technology Adoption

To increase data adoption from farmers the WP1 will analyse the adoption factors of Data Technologies to allow farmers to unlock data potential and allow farmers to unlock data potential, particularly focussing on smaller farmers assistance in the adoption of innovative and affordable digital technologies.

Expected Outcomes: WP1 will result in a deep understanding of how data sharing at a local level could be increased. It will provide exemplary tools and affordable technologies that can be adopted at local level.

Q

WP2: Data governance practices for agri-data

To enable fair data sharing and to facilitate data sharing for farmers, WP2 will develop and test data governance practices that are based on open standards and that enable fair, trusted and transparent data provision. Selected data governance practices will be implemented as software tools.

Expected Outcomes: WP2 will result in an open repository that describes data governance practices for agri-data and includes prototypical software implementations that can be used by farmers.

Q

WP3: Business models innovation to
exploit agri-data

To understand agri-data based ecosystems, WP3 will test various types of innovation business models. The research will use a systems dynamics approach to allow scenario planning and ecosystem analyses.

Expected Outcomes: WP3 will result in a set of scenarios demonstrating how agri-data can be exploited and the value shared fairly. The various scenarios are described with business models using a system dynamics approach and simulation environment.

Q

WP4: Network Training

EnTrust has brought together an interdisciplinary consortium in an excellent, inter-sectorial and international setting that focuses on establishing a fair, trusted, transparent agri-data environment benefiting smaller farmers. WP4 provides planned opportunities for an innovative and coherent interdisciplinary research and training programme, combining expertise from academic partners41 in Information Science, Computer science and social sciences complemented non-academic expertise in software engineering, agri-management and design and social value. A comprehensive, tailor-made training program has been developed.

Expected Outcomes: The core research training through WP4 in design science and individual research project methodologies, in combination with intersectoral secondments will enhance Doctoral Research training and provide opportunities to deal with real world challenges for agri-data management.

Q

WP5: Dissemination, Exploitation,
Communication

The overall objective of the work package is to coordinate communication, dissemination and exploitation of IP and results. WP5 will provide a dedicated training workshop on public engagement, communication, and dissemination. All Doctoral Researchers are required to take on an active role in dissemination, communication, and public engagement activities through the entire programme. A workshop on IP identification and exploitation is included into each network-wide training event. This will raise awareness, enhance capabilities, and ensure maximum impact of the EnTrust programme. WP5 will manage the online training platform as repository to ensure a high learning impact.

Expected Outcomes: By network-wide events and training on innovation and co-creation the doctoral researchers are building and cross-leveraging a wide range of competencies.

Q

WP6: Management and Quality Assurance

WP6 is to manage and ensure all the quality parameters of the project are maintained while ensuring the implementation. This includes general management and coordination activities, including DR recruitment, supervision arrangements, deliverables, ethics, gender representation, policies, finance, and quality assurance. Media Coverage and Project co-ordination & lead will also be an integral part of this work package.

Expected Outcomes: Create efficiency, effectiveness, and efficacy of the EnTrust programme.
